home for Christmas

We had a white Christmas :)

and made a snowman! :)
Jaden and Jackson came early to help us get ready for Christmas. They helped bake sugar cookies, chocolate covered pretzels, gingerbread houses and they even helped me wrap presents! Jackson wrote the names on the gift tags for me. They are really good helpers! Here they are reading with Grandma Becky, this year one of their favorite Christmas books was called "The twelve bugs of Christmas."
Here they are working on their gingerbread houses
Uncle Justin helped them draw helmets for their favorite football teams
Ta Da!! Jackson's is on the left and Jaden's is on the right. They did a great job :) I helped Jaden put a J on his and he told me it was for Jaden and for Jesus because He is the King! :)
raspberry white mocha thank you kix stand!
mmm and my new starbucks cup and adorable sleeve
Jackson and Jaden also helped make the snowflakes
for the pretty Christmas dinner table setting :)
Jennie's amazing coconut cake!
and I had to put up the Christmas tree and stockings my kindergarten students made! My husband made the tree and the kids decorated the star ornament and glued them on. For their stockings they told me what they wanted for Christmas and drew a picture of it inside the stocking and I wrote it in a letter to Santa for them :)
Merry Christmas!! and thank you Lord for sending Your Son Jesus to be born and to save us..."Peace on earth, goodwill to men, and glory to God in the highest!"

Oh Christmas Tree :)

So here is our tree :) $15 cut down by my husband!
this year was quite the experience :) it included a flashlight because we didn't make it until sunset, sinking shoes in mud...and wet feet for both us :) BUT we got our tree, the perfect tree I think!

I can't believe it is already our second Christmas together as a married couple! I love him so much! He is a such a blessing, so patient and caring...He.is.my.love!

And here is the beautiful fully decorated tree! It took us two days to get it completely decorated, we trimmed it and put the lights and topper on the first day, and then all of the ornaments the next day. All while watching Holiday Inn and drinking peppermint hot cocoa!

I decided to try and make something festive with the leftover clippings from the tree, and I'm pretty happy with the way that it turned out! :)

*Cute Cards* and *kind words*

Have you ever been into card making? I remember when I was in elementary school and my mom and all the ladies from church would get together for big stamp parties from companies like Dots and stampin' up. Well anyways my mom still has a ton of her stamping stuff and she doesn't use it all that often any more so i borrowed it! It's been such a fun thing to do plus it saves me so much money on buying cards for birthdays and weddings. Here are a few of the cards I made over the summer...

I'm trying to use up the rest of my paper and make as many cards as I can because the next time we get together I'm giving the stamping supplies back to my mom.

Since I've been making the cards I've sort of been re-inspired to take time to write to people. I easily take for granted how encouraging a kind note can be to someone...and it really doesn't take that much time and in this case any money! Plus Christ calls us to encourage one another and build each other up! I want to be better at this...I hope you have a wonderful Thursday! :)
